PRIMARY PURPOSE / FUNCTION:
To facilitate and enhance the accomplishment of the instructional program by providing specialized support services. Duties include but are not limited to the following:
Install, maintain & repair commercial doors and door hardware
Install, repair or replace all minor hardware associated with carpentry and plumbing
QUALIFICATIONS:
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Technical knowledge preferred
Technical knowledge required for certain positions
General carpentry and cabinetry a plus
Knowledge of the basic principals of school plant and maintenance operations
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Calm and patient demeanor with students and others
Certification of specialized skills in one or more areas of maintenance
Specialized training in one or more areas of maintenance
Experience:
Minimum of two years work experience in the area of building maintenance all phases
Meet minimum physical requirements
Responsibilities:
Perform other duties and accept others' responsiblities as assigned by supervisor
Work cooperatively with co-workers and supervisors to ensure that the goal of the school/district climate are met
Demonstrate regular and prompt daily attendance
Be available for after hour demands as needed; including evenings/weekends & holidays
Assist other crafts and/or trades in making any repairs and/or performing tasks to all district facilities
Examine district facilities on a regular basis for preventative maintenance relating to job
Must be able to work in all climate conditions both inside and outside; including work from aerial boom lifts
